Defy the Future

I saw "Prince of Persia" last Saturday. One of the best movies I have ever seen. I liked it very much and was to write about it on the same day. But it got postponed, and now I don't have much to write about it.

One thing I learnt from the movie was that, sometimes beauty lies in the attitude. Can you guess, which character from the movie am I referring to? :)

Haan hai

Above is a song from Raajneeti. I love to hear the words "haan hai", and it's not just because of Antara Mitra's sweet voice.

"Haan hai" literally means "yes, it is". I was so engrossed in being sad about things I couldn't get in the past and worrying about the things I want in future, that I forgot about the present.

In my favourite movie "Kung Fu Panda", here is what Master Oogway tells to depressed Po, "Quit. Don't quit. Noodles. Don't noodles. You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There's a saying. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift that is why it is called the "present"."

Those two words, "haan hai" reminds me of, or rather pulls me IN this moment, this beautiful moment. :)

Today is the day I will hear them again.
The only reason for writing this post is that I would love to hear those two words from you.

Some Gyan from Vidya

Many times we are afraid to do things which are good to us just because what others would say. I came across this piece of article by Vidya Balan on Women's day issue of TimesLife.

I was very young when I heard this story. It was as much a source of inspiration then as it is now. The story is about the frog. He, along with many other animals , was trying to make it to the top of the well. While he took one step at a time, he realised there were animals below him who told him that he shouldn’t  try and that he would slip and fall and never make it. There were animals at the top who told him to give up because it was useless and that he would eventually fall.

Guess what? The frog made it to the top! Everyone was shocked. The animals asked him, "How did you manage this difficult feat?" They got no answer. They asked him repeatedly until they realised that the frog was deaf!

PS: I guess sometimes it is in our best interest to be intentionally deaf. What do you say?

Do you feel life is miserable?

Sadness

I was reading article on Shivaratri  by Sri Sri and then this one line struck me. "Be grateful for the happiness which leads to growth, and also for sadness which gives depth to life."

Being grateful for happiness is alright, but being grateful for sadness? How can or rather why should we be grateful for sadness? Those of you who have just come out of sadness or are going through it, would be in better position to understand my question.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I assume few of you might have gone through sadness due to heart-break, break-up, absence of a lover or other heart related issues. Do you think the sadness you went through has given depth to your life?

You are free to answer it even if you never had any heart related issues, though I doubt you never had any! :)

I See You

Well, "I See You" means more than just mere seeing in Na'vi langauge.  By the way, the Na'vi are inhabitants of Pandora. :)

I watched this movie "Avatar" yesterday and am totally blown up by it! It is one of the best movies I have seen till date. I had totally gone into the movie, though it was 2D. I will surely watch it's 3D version, if I got the chance.

The movie has got a superb story, and the breakthrough technology is nicely used to present the beautiful masterpiece.

Some movies have a soul. This is one of them.
Do watch it, if not in 3D than atleast on a very big screen!
